Job Description

The JB Steel, Inc. is seeking to add a Structural Steel Estimator/Project Manager to our team. This position is located in the beautiful Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to plan, coordinate schedules and services, manage budgets, and ensure all work is performed skillfully, efficiently and within the timeline and estimate. You will need to bring your leadership, organizational, and management skills to the table.

Your workday might look like this

• Involvement with pre-construction activities: construction planning and design; interpretation of design and drawings; application of construction methods; bid packages
• Interpret designs and drawings; prepares takeoffs; researches and recommends resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts and errors
• Assemble construction financial data; monitors costs; tracks costs for force accounts
• Create correspondence to owners, contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, etc.
• Maintain as-built drawings and RFI logs
• Checking contract documents, RFI's, specifications, etc. to ensure drawings are accurate
• Adhere to applicable building codes and company design standards.
• Assist fabricators with questions, as necessary.
• Some Structural steel detailing may also be required
• Communicate and reinforce the Company vision, values and goals
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

You need to have

• Bachelor's degree in a construction-related discipline from an accredited educational institution
• 5+ years in the construction industry, preferably Design/Build and/or industrial and commercial construction
• 3+ years of estimating / cost estimating management experience
• Excellent math, reading, writing, and communication skills with diverse audiences
• Highly organized and efficient time management
• Friendly personality and willing to work as part of a team
