Paralegal - Wage & Hour Class Action

The Opportunity

Paralegals in our Employment Wage & Hour Class Action department provide litigation support to our attorneys and partners. This role manages a high volume of cases and requires the ability to be resourceful and multi-task with a high attention to detail. Experience at an employment law firm highly desirable. This position can be based in Oakland, Downtown Los Angeles, or Irvine.

Accountable for

• Prepare correspondence, letters, pleadings and all forms of discovery.
• Proofread and edit legal documents for accuracy and clarity. Â
• Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases. Â
• Maintain case files on the Firm’s document and case management system.
• Assist in preparing for hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations and trials. Â
• Case/calendar/project management and client communication. Â
• Provide administrative support to the legal team.Â

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Paralegal experience in Labor and Employment and Wage & Hour.
• Well versed in e-filing in State, Federal courts (Appellate a plus), and administrative agencies. Â
• Experience propounding/responding to discovery, calendaring hearings and court deadlines, and assisting with mediation/arbitration/trial preparation.Â
• Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels across the Firm.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while providing leadership and guidance to paralegals, legal assistants and clerks.Â
• Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills.Â
• Proficient in conducting legal research using Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw or similar platforms. Â
• Experience using Litify or similar case/document management systems.
• Spanish fluency and proficiency with Microsoft 365 strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree a plus.

Compensation

• Hourly position $35.00 - $57.70 hourly depending on experience.
