Manufacturing Engineer | Rockford, MI

Salary Range: $75,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Develop and implement tooling, fixtures, and equipment to enhance manufacturing capabilities and improve ergonomics.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on yield, cycle time reduction, and waste elimination.
• Create and maintain detailed manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Support new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring manufacturability and smooth transition from design to production.
• Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to resolve technical challenges and implement engineering changes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role within a production environment.
• Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies for process optimization.
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of various manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, and automation.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
• Experience with advanced data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
• Familiarity with ERP (e.g., SAP, Oracle) or MES systems
• Hands-on experience with robotics programming or advanced automation systems
