Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Farm Hand to join our team in North Garden, VA. If you are passionate about farming, have extensive experience, and are committed to excellence, we want to hear from you!

Qualifications

• Minimum of 20 years of experience in farming operations.
• Must be career-oriented, reliable, trustworthy, and honest.
• Strong work ethic, team player, self-motivated, and passionate about farming.
• Must possess leadership skills, organization, IT proficiency, problem-solving abilities, and dependability.
• No smoking, vaping, drug use, or other vices permitted on the farm.

Key Responsibilities

Animal Care:

• Feed animals, including alternating weekend shifts.
• Identify and care for sick animals.
• Deliver animals and assist veterinarians in challenging situations.
• Sort, weigh, and manage livestock grazing patterns.

Crop Management:

• Plant and harvest crops as needed.
• Oversee livestock, garden, and orchard operations.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Perform minor repairs and daily maintenance on farm equipment.
• Operate farm and heavy machinery safely, preventing damage and injuries.
• Maintain all equipment in clean and pristine condition inside and out.

Other Duties:

• Install and repair fencing as needed.
• Repair and maintain watering systems.

Benefits

• Sign-On Bonus: $2,000 for exceptional candidates who demonstrate excellence. Paid over a period of one year, and contingent on successfully completed one year of employment.
• Housing: Available for selective candidates who meet strict criteria, including a minimum of 10 years with the same farming operation and 5 references. Housing must be kept in immaculate condition.
• Benefits: Eligible for full benefit package including, health insurance, life insurance, 401K with company match, paid time off, and paid holidays.

Requirements

• Must pass a criminal background check and drug tests.
• Adherence to the farm's strict policy prohibiting smoking, vaping, drug use, or other vices on the premises.
