Dump Truck CDL Driver – Join Our Asphalt Paving Team!

(Class A or B - Standard Only - No Automatic Restrictions)

Location: Columbus, Ohio (Shop Location) – Work Performed Across the State of Ohio

Position Type: Full-Time (Seasonal) – Work weeks typically range from 40 to 60 hours, with occasional mandatory weekends based on project demands.

Pay Range: Competitive hourly pay ($20 to $30 per hour), with specific rates discussed based on experience, class and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

As a Dump Truck CDL Driver , you will be an essential part of our operations, ensuring materials are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time. Responsibilities include:

  • Safe and Professional Operation of Trucks:
  • Operate company-provided dump trucks to transport asphalt, aggregate, and other materials to and from job sites.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local driving laws and regulations.
  • Material Delivery and Pickup:
  • Load, transport, and unload materials, and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials, and equipment to job sites based on project schedules.
  • Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection:
  • Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation.
  • Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Keep the vehicle clean and in good condition.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with project managers, dispatchers, and crew members to ensure seamless operations.
  • Communicate effectively to address any challenges or delays.
  • Adherence to Safety Standards:
  • Follow company safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Remain vigilant and proactive to prevent accidents or hazards on the road or job sites.

Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Licensing and Certification:
  • Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Current DOT medical card.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of one year experience driving dump trucks.
  • Previous experience in the asphalt, construction, or paving industry is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong understanding of truck operations, including loading, unloading, and safe hauling techniques.
  • Familiarity with asphalt paving materials and procedures is a plus.
  • Ability to read and follow maps, directions, and project schedules.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Comfortable working in outdoor environments and various weather conditions.
